Texas Tech Campus Closure Response
University President Lawrence Schovanec confirmed the school will remain closed on Thursday, March 13, and Friday, March 14, with classes canceled and non-essential employees working remotely. Spring Break officially starts next week, and officials encouraged students to leave early.
Emergency Efforts and Investigation
Lubbock Fire Rescue and Texas Tech Police worked through the night to contain the fires and assess damage. No injuries occurred, but officials have not yet determined the cause of the explosion.
