Dilbert Creator Says Cancer Has Spread to His Bones
Former Dilbert comic strip creator Scott Adams has revealed that he has been diagnosed with the same aggressive kind of prostate cancer as former President Joe Biden. The announcement was made on Monday, May 19, 2025, on an episode of his YouTube program, Real Coffee with Scott Adams.
“I have the same cancer that Joe Biden has,” Adams said. “So, I also have prostate cancer that has also spread to my bones.”
Pain and Prognosis: “It’s Basically Intolerable”
The Dilbert creator described his current condition as extremely painful. He revealed that he now uses a walker and expects to die sometime this summer due to the disease’s advanced stage.
“It’s basically intolerable,” Adams added, referencing the constant pain from the metastasized cancer.
He said the diagnosis has given him time to come to terms with the situation, get his affairs in order, and say his goodbyes.
Respect for Biden Amid Shared Diagnosis
Adams extended his “respect and compassion and sympathy” to Joe Biden and his family during the announcement. Biden’s diagnosis was made public on Sunday, May 18, when his office confirmed an aggressive prostate cancer that had spread to the bone, with a high Gleason score of 9.

Scott Adams became well-known for his comic strip Dilbert, which delightfully depicted the ridiculousness of corporate office life. It was first published in 1989 and quickly spread throughout the nation’s newspapers.
However, Adams’ racist comments toward Black Americans on his YouTube channel in 2023 sparked a great deal of criticism. He referred to Black people as members of a “hate group” and said he would no longer help Black Americans.
